Phuket Aquarium was established on 10 September 1983. It operates under a revolving fund system, set up in 1986 to support ongoing improvements and development. The Phuket aquarium serves as a learning center for youth, students, and the general public, providing knowledge about marine life include term of conservation and environmental protection. Revenue is generated from admission fees, souvenirs, food, and beverages, and is reinvested to enhance facilities and visitor experience. Recently, Phuket Aquarium is under the Reference collection and Aquarium Unit, Phuket Marine Biological Center, Marine and Coastal Resources Research and Development Institute, Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
